About Me

Hi, I’m Kelly!

I’m an all-around designer who understands both digital and print principles. My passion is building meaningful experiences that are both beautiful and effective. I am a keen learner with a great passion about the work I do. Detailing is something I take pride in with my work, the small finishing touches can really bring out the final experience! I received a BFA in Graphic Design with an emphasis in photography from Minnesota State University, Mankato graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. When I'm not designing, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, photography, hiking, and yoga. Let’s make something beautiful!

Kind Words

I’ve had the pleasure to work with some of the most wonderful people who were so kind to say a few nice things about me.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kelly over the past three years, across two different companies: Voya Financial, and most recently Siteimprove. I can tell you from personal experience, she is one of the most talented designers I have ever worked with throughout my 10-year career.

As a designer, Kelly’s work is continually pushing the envelope of design trends and what is “great.” She is a creative problem solver who knows how to work with, redefine, respect and evolve brand standards. Her skills and knowledge of design elevates the work of all those around her, and whatever project she is working on.

She has a mastery of both print and digital principals, and her experience spans a variety of agencies from corporate, to agency and most recently tech/SaaS.

As an individual, Kelly’s personality will be sure to fit right into your company and culture. She is as honest, hardworking, and fun as they come. She is a strong leader, a supportive co-worker and all around one of the best people I have ever worked with.

As a digital marketing leader it is imperative to have a strong relationship with creative services. Kelly was our lead who not only managed the demand and capacity for creative services but she also worked on key projects and helped establish our visual themes across product lines.

We come from a continuous improvement organization and as the lead for managing demand and capacity she did an excellent job. She supported three different lines of business and managed the process by working with the customer and other creatives. She ensured that there was flexibility in the process to adjust based on the ever changing needs of the business.

As a creative designer she delivered innovative and creative solutions. I recall a product launch where we wanted a brochure that described a message in three parts. She came back with a gatefold concept that we hadn’t used before. It was ingeniously laid out told the message beautifully. I always appreciate the attention to detail whether it was a design for a booth, visual theming a product launch or as simple as event posters for an internal team building event.

She has natural leadership attributes. She handles herself very professionally and I would not hesitate to put her in a room with marketing leaders to go over creative approaches. I also love that fact that she asks for feedback on how to improve herself. Her peers enjoyed her leadership style and you could see it because it extended beyond work. They ate lunches together and spent time volunteering as a team and they had each other’s back. It is a reflection of a strong team and it’s lead.

I know any organization would be lucky to have Kelly on the team.

Kelly is hands down one of the best graphic designers I have ever worked with. She has the ability to take a campaign brief and turn it into something extremely visually appealing. We worked on countless campaigns together and she always beat the deadline and turned my ideas into tangible assets from email graphics, direct mail pieces, and PPC. 10/10 can’t recommend enough.
— Jessica Pate // Account-Based Marketing Manager at Siteimprove

Kelly’s creativity and professionalism make it not only easy but a pleasure to recommend her. Her design work for our marketing team brought our content and programs to a new level, she is organized, communicates incredibly well, and was overall a fun and kind teammate to work with. I would definitely recommend her to any organization.

I highly recommend Kelly. Her expertise in both the digital and print space is a true asset to any design team. Kelly is a true design talent - bringing passion, focus, and collaborative professionalism to every project.

Kelly led the design and execution of The Mosaic Company’s 2016 State of the Business Report. The design solution crossed over from digital to print beautifully while effectively expressing the vision of the brand. We’ve designed The Mosaic Company’s State of the Business Report for multiple years and have had to refresh the look each year. Kelly’s design solution hit the mark.

On both Lundstrum Performing Arts and City of Tonka Bay, she designed and extended the visual identity to create cohesive and expressive systems.

During the two years we worked together, she also led the design and execution of the Franke+Fiorella website. This effort was no small task, it was very involved. Kelly’s focus and passion led the way from beginning to end – very impressive.

I had the pleasure of hiring Kelly at Voya Financial. The process stands out in my memory because I’ve never had as many top-rated designers to choose from, and Kelly stood out. Kelly was one of my best decisions to date.

Besides her strong design talent, she is a consummate professional, fast and extremely reliable. Moreover, with Kelly, you get a bonus. She is always pushing to innovate, and her disposition is driven to learn. At every one-on-one, Kelly came well prepared with questions about design feedback, procedures, and business questions.

Kelly worked on numerous high-visibility projects, including a new product launch called Ascend. Her design and art direction was pivotal in building the excitement around the new offering and helped set the tone of the marketing.

For these reasons, I highly recommend Kelly in whatever endeavor she pursues.

Kelly is a talented, agile and smart designer. I had the pleasure of collaborating with her on a range of brand identity projects for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local non-profits. Whether developing a new brand or working within an established identity, Kelly’s able to receive direction, think critically to understand the challenge, and deliver creative, strategic and practical solutions. She thoughtfully considers feedback and can roll with the flow if direction changes. And, she’s great to work with: insightful, friendly, and calm—even with multiple projects and tight timeframes. I wholeheartedly recommend Kelly if you value fresh design and attention to detail.
